Farmers & Merchants Bank Doesn't Miss a Thing with IQinVision

IQinVision, market leader in high performance megapixel network cameras, smart IP cameras, and network video recording systems, today announced that Farmers & Merchants Bank has standardized on IQeye multi-megapixel IP cameras. The IQeye 501 cameras are being installed in all F&M branches covering lobbies, teller windows, and ATMs.

“We put up an IQeye camera, and after initial configuration, we don’t touch it. We have never had a problem with the IQ cameras,” said Pete Ducato, Network Manager. “This was not the case with our previous cameras; those were more expensive in terms of repair and maintenance time, even though they were initially a lower cost camera.” Over time, the bank found that the low end cameras required maintenance and many had to be sent back to the manufacturer for repair.

To take advantage of the IQeye’s superior image quality, the bank uses one camera for every two tellers. Ducato stated, “We could have a bigger field of view but we really want to see exactly what is going on at the teller window. The IQeye cameras provide the clarity we need.” F&M also uses the cameras for “Regulation E” claims, when ATMs are fraudulently used. IQeye image quality ensures clear pictures, increasing the odds for positive identification of these perpetrators. The bank’s camera deployment strategy has been very effective.

The teller cameras are used for protection and investigation in the case of robberies. Recently, an F&M branch was victimized. The attempted robbery occurred on a Friday, high-quality images of the suspect were produced from IQeye video footage and were emailed to the police and transferred to CD. Fifteen minutes after the incident, the police had the pictures, and the alleged perpetrator was arrested the next day.
