Temple University Selects IQeye Megapixel Network Cameras

Temple University occupies 114 acres in Philadelphia, PA and has over 34,000 students and 5,500 staff in 150+ buildings facilities. When incidents occurred on campus, the CCTV system was often unable to provide the necessary resolution to identify suspects conclusively. According to Joe Leotti, Temple’s Superintendent of Building Systems, “We needed better image quality, video that would provide indisputable evidence and a technology that would allow for campus-wide expansion and integration.” So, Temple turned to the IQeye. The uniquely powerful IQeye Resolution™ enabled them to cover significantly wider areas and still capture an impressive level of detail.

For recording the IQeye cameras, Temple chose Milestone Systems from Denmark, a leading manufacturer of Network Video Recording (NVR) Software, which enabled them to utilize the existing network infrastructure and upgrade the VCR and DVR technology to true digital recording.

Temple Security staff immediately recognized the advantages of the IQeye Resolution™ and asked the university to expand the initial number of IQeye cameras from 15 to 50. To date, the new megapixel cameras have proven successful in positively identifying perpetrators such that the University is considering replacing more of the analog cameras with the IQeye Resolution™ cameras.
